Areas of Research/Interest: Voting behavior; African American immigration from the south in the post World War I period; development of communication systems; research methods and statistics.

Bio:
I have always been interested in the application of social sciences. I did my graduate work in Columbia where I was trained in applied research methods, particularly survey design and content analysis at the Bureau of Applied Social Research, which was at that time one of the leading centers in communication and policy studies.
